About Us

As part of The Mommies Network, SantaBarbaraMommies.com is a free community for moms in Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties, California. We realize that all moms need local support -- and who can't use another friend? SantaBarbaraMommies.com offers a simple way to connect with local moms for friendship, support and fun. Members meet on our private discussion forums to share information on everything from where to get the best haircut to tips on transitioning to a "big kid" bed. Each month, we also offer many face-to-face events for our members, their children and their families. Register today to access our discussion forums, events calendar and more! It's free and we'll keep your info secure and private.

Mission
To provide a safe, secure, FREE place for mothers to find support and encouragement from other mothers and to empower them to be better women, parents and community leaders.

Philosophy
No one should have to pay a fee to make a friend, so we offer free membership to any mother within the community who wishes to join. Members gain camaraderie and support through an online forum that is available 24 hours a day and events around the area where mothers can meet face-to-face and develop real friendships that can last a lifetime.

We believe that, working together, mothers can change the world - one family, one neighborhood, one community at a time. SantaBarbaraMommies is a connecting force, helping us each to make a difference in our own lives, in our families and in the places we call home.

About Us
SantaBarbaraMommies.com developed from Chapter Manager Jeni Eddington's personal need to reconnect with her community as a mother rather than a college student, single woman, or wife. While living in Hawaii for a brief time, she was a member of HonoluluMommies.com and enjoyed the quality of play dates, the ability to communicate in the web forums during her "down time", the philanthropy of the group, and the support of other mothers. She returned to California in May 2010 and wanted to foster that same experience in Santa Barbara County. Jeni looks forward to the camaraderie of other mommies, watching their children play together in parks and at the beach, and visiting local attractions that weren't on her radar before she became a mother.

We chat online in a private forum - discussing everything from the best photographers to the worst temper tantrums and all that lies between - and meet-up regularly at member-driven events around town. Whether it's a late night commiseration on a crying baby (there are 4 am posts to prove it) or a Mom's Night Out, SantaBarbaraMommies provides what our members need, when and how they need it.

But SantaBarbaraMommies is more than just a community of moms. It's moms in and for the community. Our members work full time, stay home full time, work part time, represent many races, are pregnant for the first time, are adoptive moms, were adopted themselves, recently moved to the area, have lived here all our lives, have twins, are happy with one, are single moms, are searching out schools and have watched their kids graduate. In other words, we are a reflection of mothers in the real world. And we help out our neighbors as much as ourselves through organized fundraisers and other charity events - specifically those focused on providing for mothers and their children.
